About us
This Southern Baptist-affiliated church began in the 1960’s on Washington Avenue in Culver City. Around the 1970s, the city planners wanted that spot for retail, and in exchange gave us the original, first Culver City library for our new church building. We love the fact that Culver City residents have been coming here for wisdom for decades. We are a family-integrated church which promotes the family worshipping together Sunday morning.
Max Ellzey became the pastor here in 2009, after the long tenure of Mr. John Riley. Max enjoys pastoring the church and teaching God’s Word in the neighborhood where he lives. This is a true neighborhood church and many walk to services Sunday morning and for prayer meeting Wednesday night (the times when the church is open). Max also works as a full-time professor at Pepperdine University and as an Executive Coach.
Who we are
As a small church, we are less Program and Personality-Driven (Christ is the head of the church),Sunday Worship on the Lord’s Day is the most significant and prominent event during the week.
We are a Family Integrated Church
Our Meeting Place is Humble & Approachable
you won’t enjoy professional musicians - but music is presented from the heart of different members; you may or may not see visually appealing graphic design, our congregation has a majority of aged members who represent lots of accumulated wisdom.
People Have a Relationship with the Pastor
The Pastor truly gets to know his congregation and gains greater insight as he seeks to apply the truth of Gods word. He can preach the whole counsel of God.
